Portlock is pleased to announce a beta release of the Portlock Boot CD 64-bit Edition. With the significantly larger memory space that 64-bit programs support, very large storage volumes can be supported.
Portlock Storage Manager users with very large (2TB+) Windows NTFS and Novell Storage Services (NSS) pools will benefit most from the 64-bit version. Portlock Storage Manager requires access to more physical memory to build its internal tables for image, restore and resize operations. The 32-bit (x86) version of the Portlock Boot CD is only capable of allocating less than 2 GB of memory to applications, limiting the access to very large volumes.
This version also supports 64-bit Apple systems based on Intel processors including the Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro.
The Portlock Boot CD includes a full assortment of tools for managing WinPE, and an extensive toolkit for managing storage, backup, restore and disaster recovery. The Portlock Boot CD now includes the Windows Recovery Environment for repairing boot and startup problems with Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 systems.
The Portlock Boot CD is available in nine languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese and Korean).
